Update your current capacity
Updated August 31, 2026
This setting applies to supervisors whose profiles can appear in the public directory. In-house supervisors may not see the capacity selector.
Change your status
Capacity tells Motivo whether you are open to new supervision relationships right now.
- Sign in to your Motivo account.
- Open the capacity menu in the page header. The button displays your current status.
- Select the status that reflects your current workload.
- Wait for the confirmation message before leaving the page.
You can also update whether you have capacity from Settings > Calendar, then select Save changes. The header menu provides all three status choices and is the clearest place to make a precise change.
What each status means
Ready for opportunities keeps your profile public and signals that you are available for new supervisees.
Limited availability keeps your profile public while signaling that your capacity is constrained. Use it when you can consider a new relationship but cannot take a full workload.
No bandwidth hides your public profile and stops new outreach based on directory visibility. It does not end current supervision relationships or cancel scheduled sessions.
Supervisees browsing the directory see a short explanation beside your status: that you are actively looking for supervisees, that you are open to opportunities but have limited bandwidth, or that you have no bandwidth for opportunities.
No bandwidth declines your open requests
Selecting No bandwidth does more than hide your profile. Motivo immediately declines, on your behalf:
- every employer-sponsored opportunity you have open, with the reason recorded as no availability
- every intro call request that does not yet have a booked time, with the reason recorded as no bandwidth
Intro calls that are already booked for a future time are left alone, and so is anyone you are already matched with. The declines are not reversible from your side. If you change your status back later, those requests do not come back and the supervisees have to be reached again.
Because of that, choose Limited availability rather than No bandwidth when you are only slowing down. Save No bandwidth for when you genuinely want everything in flight cleared.
Capacity and working hours are different
Capacity controls whether your profile is open to new supervision relationships. Weekly availability controls which times can be offered for calls and sessions. Updating one does not update the other.
If you select Ready for opportunities or Limited availability, also review Settings > Calendar and make sure Set your working hours contains times you can use. If you select No bandwidth, continue maintaining your calendar for current supervisees and existing bookings.
Your status can be changed at any time. Choose the setting that reflects your actual availability rather than the number of supervisees you hope to work with later.
