Creating your Motivo account

How you get your account depends on who is paying for your supervision:

• Paying for supervision yourself (or reimbursed by your employer): you sign up on Motivo’s website.
• Employer-sponsored: your employer adds you to Motivo, and you activate your account from an email.

If you're paying for supervision yourself

1. Start at the signup page. Answer a few questions about why you’re joining, your license and location, where you are in your training or career, and Motivo’s supervision rates.
2. Browse the supervisor directory, filter for what you need, and choose a supervisor you’d like an intro call with.
3. Create your account. Enter your First name, Last name, Email, Phone number, and a Password that meets the requirements shown. Review the displayed agreements and select the required checkboxes.
4. Select Sign up.
5. Set up payment. FYI your card may be charged a $20 fee if you miss your free intro call without canceling in advance.
6. Share a few details to help your supervisor prepare, then schedule your intro call.

If your employer sponsors your supervision

Your employer can add you to Motivo in one of two ways:

• Your employer adds you directly. You’ll get a welcome email from Motivo with a link to set your password and activate your account.
• Your employer shares a signup link. Enter your information on the form and select Sign up. Motivo will email you about next steps. If the page says self-signup isn’t available for your organization, contact your employer’s Motivo admin to get set up.

You don’t need to add a payment card, because your employer is billed directly.

Use an email address you can keep accessing. Motivo sends account, scheduling, and session notices to the contact information on your profile.

What happens next

• Paying yourself: After your intro call, you and the supervisor each confirm whether you want to work together. Once you both accept, they can start booking sessions. How quickly that happens depends mostly on how fast the supervisor responds and whether they have capacity.
• Employer-sponsored: Your employer or Motivo will arrange your supervisor. This might be an intro call your employer schedules, or a match with a supervisor your employer already works with. Watch your email for next steps.

Your supervisor handles the board paperwork

You do not need to work out the documentation your board wants on your own. Motivo supervisors are experienced with the supervision documentation and requirements for their state and license type, and completing and signing what your board needs is part of the job.

Bring anything your board or your program has given you to the intro call, so you and the supervisor can confirm early that they can sign it.

If you already have an account

Do not create a second account if you have previously used Motivo. Select Log in here where it appears, or use Log in from the site header.

If an employer signup link says an account with your email already exists, don’t sign up with a different email. Contact your employer’s Motivo admin or support@motivohealth.com so your existing account can be connected. If you can’t access the email on your account, contact support@motivohealth.com so the account can be reviewed.

How much does Motivo cost?

The standard rate for individual clinical supervision is $125/hour for an individual session, which applies when an employer or sponsoring organization is covering all or part of the cost. To keep supervision accessible for clinicians who are covering the full cost on their own, we offer a reduced self-pay rate.

How much does Motivo cost when an employer or sponsoring organization is paying for a supervisee's supervision?

The rate is $125/hour for individual supervision whenever an employer or sponsoring organization is covering all or part of the cost of supervision.

How much does Motivo cost if I'm paying out of pocket?

If you're paying entirely out of pocket, with no employer or sponsoring organization covering any part of the cost, you're eligible for a discounted self-pay rate of $85/hour for an individual session. During signup, you will attest that you're paying out of pocket, and Motivo may verify.
