Supervision sessions are a meaningful commitment — for both you and your supervisor. Behind every session is time spent preparing, reviewing notes, and making space in a busy calendar to support your growth.
To honor that time and ensure fairness to all supervisees, Motivo has a 24-hour cancellation policy. This policy helps supervisors manage their schedules effectively and makes room for others who may be waiting for support.
Life happens — we understand that. If something comes up and you can’t make your scheduled session, please notify your supervisor at least 24 hours in advance. The best way to do this is through a message or email, so there’s a clear record of communication.
Giving early notice helps your supervisor adjust their day and possibly offer the slot to another supervisee.
When a session is canceled or missed, your supervisor will mark it in one of two ways:
Canceled with notice – You let your supervisor know at least 24 hours in advance. No charge will apply.
No show/late cancel – You cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or don’t show up. This is considered a late cancellation.
If your session is marked as a no show/late cancel:
If you’re paying for your supervision, you will be charged the full session amount.
If your employer is covering the cost, they will be billed the full session amount.
In either case, your supervisor will still be compensated for their time.
